In loving memory of our Daniele
On 28 November 2025, Torre Argentina lost one of the most important people in the history of our association. Daniele Petrucci unexpectedly died at only 49 years old. He was a fundamental part and organizer of our Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) program that helped sterilize over 98,000 cats in 32 years. With heavy hearts we carry on our work, with Daniele as an example and inspiration. To honor him, we held a ceremony on 24 February 2026 in Villa Celimontana in Palazzetto Mattei with his closest friends, local caregivers to the cat colonies of Rome, veterinarians, public figures, and volunteers of Torre Argentina from the past and present. The ceremony was indicative of the important work he did for the city through his love of animals. The location was an important part of Daniele’s life as he cared for the cats in the park’s colony. Not a day passes when we don’t think of him or talk about him. We keep him close in the only way we now can – through the cats.
